We have found that nothing holds our pads better then our hook & loop, flexible backing plate. Our backing plate was specifically designed to work with our self centering pads to ensure you get the best results possible. This is the best backing plate to use with your Porter Cable or any machine with a 5/8" shaft. Unlike most backing plates, this backing plate is flexible so you can hit all of the contours of your vehicles bends and curves. It is constructed of molded urethane as opposed to most of the cheap stuff on the market. It has a reinforced inner construction utilizing steel struts that are molded into the center hub to give stability while maintaining an even surface for your pads.
